Our company maintains a commitment to its staff to promote standards of conduct to assure safety and productivity in the workplace. These standards require that staff be free of physical or cognitive impairment resulting from the use of alcohol or drugs, including legal drugs, when working or involved in any lab activity.

The use of alcohol during business-related functions or at company-approved functions does not relieve staff members from exercising moderation and judgment to avoid impairment so as not to represent a hazard or danger to themselves, other staff, or the general public.

When alcohol abuse testing is performed, the Department of Transportation standards for alcohol testing will be followed. Workplace Substance Abuse Program considers a blood alcohol concentration of 0.02% or higher as under the influence and therefore not fit to do work in the laboratory or fit for duty.
