The OSHA Institute has a number of good classes. If there is one in your area that would be one option.

Subject: [DCHAS-L] Chemical Hygiene Officer
Training
Does anybody know of a good training for how to be a Chemical Hygiene Officer that is not too expensive? My school wants me to be the CHO for the chemicals in the chemistry stockroom (not the whole school) and I’m insisting that I need to be trained in order to take this on. Perhaps the training may tell me I don’t want to take this on, but we’ll see. They are trying to find a cheap training that would adequately prepare me for this job and they (and I) don’t know where to look. I know about the Lab Safety Institute’s Aug 19 training in Boston, and I will actually be in the Boston area for my vacation at that time, but they are looking for something less expensive where they wouldn’t have to pay to put me up in a hotel room as well as pay for the training. Any ideas?
