As many of you know, I am retiring soon.  Please share…..The University of Connecticut has posted the position under the category of Laboratory Technician 3:

The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences seeks applicants for a full-time position as a Laboratory Technician 3 for the Department of Chemistry. Under the direction of the Chemistry Laboratory Manager, this position will provide research and teaching support to the department in the form of managing the Research Laboratory Services operation and inventory related to laboratory set up and oversee all physical shipping and receiving functions for the Chemistry Building.

However the job setting is not in a lab but the Chemistry Department's Main Stockroom.  A better and more detailed description can be found at:

https://jobs.hr.uconn.edu/cw/en-us/job/494880/laboratory-technician-3

Though some of my responsibilities have been distributed among existing staff and the Department's organizational chart is changing in the wake of my departure; the duties and responsibilities are accurately represented and the Laboratory Manager, Eric Krantz, will be an exceptional mentor.  (Some of you have met Eric during recent conferences.)

This is an upper level union position with great benefits like retirement, health insurance, tuition waiver/reimbursement, professional development funds and more.

Let me know if I may provide additional information.

Happy holidays!
