I thought the Division membership might be interested in 3 safety training resources I have learned of in the last 24 hours:
1. An article in ACS Chemical Health & Safety on "Creating Effective eLearning to Help Drive Change" at
https://pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/acs.chas.0c00091
This article describes general considerations for developing e-learning systems with a focus on safety training.
2. An article in the Journal of Chemical Education on "Process Safety in the Pharmaceutical Industry: A Selection of Illustrative Case Studies"
https://pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/acs.jchemed.0c00115
that illustrates process safety principles with specific examples of events related to those principles. This article is co-authored by a Committee on Chemical Safety member, Anna Dunn.
3. A podcast discussing safety outreach to teens, featuring another Committee on Chemical Safety member, Jennifer Maclachan and her work with the AIHA committee on teen safety. Her observations about communicating with this audience are likely to apply to large parts of older audiences as well. This podcast episode is available at
https://www.probabilitymatters.com/
Let me know if you have any questions about this.
