Employees are back to work at the New Balance facility in Skowhegan, and the company says they‰??ve identified what led to the hazmat incident that happened there last week.
New Balance officials say the building reopened Thursday morning, it was closed for a week.
On October 22, six people were taken to the hospital after having trouble breathing and burning eyes while on the job.
After investigating officials say that a COVID-19 cleaning product came into contact with certain equipment, causing an adverse reaction for a large group.
70 people were decontaminated on site in hazmat tents.
The company says that product has been removed from all factories.

Static from Geiger counters and creaks from metal echoed as crews in hazmat suits carefully inspected and sorted rubble where a house once stood off East Central Road in Gates.
The property, devastated by the Beachie Creek Fire in early September, is one of many sites across the state being cleared of hazardous waste by crews from the federal Environmental Protection Agency.
Six task forces made up of two teams ‰?? with nine members ‰?? have been assigned to clean up debris from the Beachie Creek and Holiday Farm fires.
Six additional crews were sent to the Phoenix and Talent areas in Jackson County. Two teams will move to Douglas County at the end of the week.
The EPA‰??s hazardous waste cleanup effort is the first in a two-step process funded by the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the State of Oregon. The service is free to residents who submit Right of Entry forms.
Crews are collecting material ranging from bleach containers to batteries, paint to propane tanks ‰??"anything that is compromised and potentially threatens public health," said Randy Nattis, incident commander for EPA.
So far, the teams have been able to clean up about 450 properties across Oregon, Nattis said. Officials anticipate the process will take several weeks, and each property can cost about $75,000.

DAYTON, Maine (WMTW) - First responders are reminding people to be careful with what they put in the trash after two people were treated for chemical burns.
The Goodwins Mills Fire Department says a container filled with hydrochloric acid ended up in the trash in Dayton on Monday. When the trash was compacted in a garbage truck, the container broke and reacted with other items in the trash creating a fume cloud.
Employees quickly tried to empty the truck, thinking there was a fire. Two employees were taken to the hospital to be treated for chemical burns.
The Department of Environmental Protection was called to make sure the chemical was contained and there was no lingering danger in the air.

The chemical leak incident at 3M research and development site in Brockville, Ont., is resolved, according to the Ontario Office of the Fire Marshal.
The Office of the Fire Marshal said it learned of the leak Wednesday morning. Hazmat teams were on scene.
In a tweet Wednesday night, the office said the hazardous material call "has been successfully resolved."
Aman Kainth, a spokesperson for the Office of the Fire Marshal, said the building had been evacuated. One firefighter and one other person suffered minor injuries as a result of the leak, she said.
Early Wednesday afternoon, Kainth said preliminary information from the scene indicated it was an ammonia leak, but Brockville Fire Chief David Lazenby said crews were working to determine the source and substance of the leak.

A person was hospitalised with acid in their eye after a chemical was found in the packaging of office equipment delivered to a central Wellington office on Thursday morning.
Fire and Emergency was called to a high-rise building, 125 The Terrace, to assist ambulance staff at 9.57am.
Assistant area commander Michael Dombroski said a person had unwrapped the parcel, and found small amounts of sulphuric acid inside the folds of the packaging.
The person was taken by ambulance to Wellington Hospital with minor injuries after getting acid in their eye.

Colorado authorities say that a truck driver has admitted to trying to take a short cut through a tunnel that is restricted for the hazmat load that he was hauling.
Forty-three year old New York-based truck driver Marat Latypov entered a guilty plea on October 26 to charges of Attempting to Influence a Public Servant (Class 4 Felony) and Reckless Endangerment (Class 3 Misdemeanor), according to a news release from the Colorado Fifth Judicial District Attorney‰??s Office.
The charges are a result of a March 18, 2020, incident during which Latypov tried to drive 28,500 pounds of sodium hydroxide through the Eisenhower/Johnson Memorial Tunnels, where hazmat loads are forbidden.

Astute Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) officials witnessed the Defendant stop on the shoulder of I-70 westbound, blatantly flip his hazardous materials (HAZMAT) placards over then attempt to drive through the tunnel, evading the State mandated US Hwy 6 Loveland Pass HAZMAT route. Prior to entering the tunnel, the trucker was stopped by CDOT personnel, and CO State Patrol (CSP) Troopers responded to the potentially deadly violation. During CSP‰??s investigation, the truck driver admitted to flipping his HAZMAT markings, so he could take a short cut through the tunnels‰??putting potentially hundreds of motorists and CDOT personnel at risk. The trailer had liquid residue in it and was labeled ‰??Immediately dangerous to life or health conditions‰?? on the original bill of lading.

CHICAGO (CBS) ‰?? Two adults were rushed to the hospital Tuesday evening when an electrical generator emitted a potentially lethal amount of carbon monoxide into a home in Auburn Gresham.
The Fire Department called a Level 1 Hazmat situation for the single-family home at 8506 S. Ada St.
The carbon monoxide level had reached a lethal 550 ppm because of the generator, the Fire Department said.
A man was taken to OSF Little Company of Mary Medical Center in Evergreen Park in serious-to-critical condition and a woman was taken to the same hospital in fair-to-serious condition, the Fire Department said.

Maine (WABI) - The New Balance facility in Skowhegan remains closed following a hazmat incident there last week.
We were previously told by authorities that employees were back to work as of yesterday.
Tuesday, New Balance officials said in a statement they are still investigating the incident.
The facility will remain closed until at least Thursday, with employee health and safety the top priority.
Six people were taken to the hospital last Thursday after an unknown chemical or mix of chemicals caused trouble breathing and burning eyes.
They were treated and released.
In all, 70 people were decontaminated on site in hazmat tents before being allowed to go home.

A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman said they were called to the incident on McAlpine Street just after 10pm.
A drum of chemicals had been damaged by a forklift and began to leak, the spokesman said.
"I am unable to say exactly what chemical it was."
A crew from the Wigram fire station helped to contain the leak and contacted chemical experts.

An oil refining company in Oklahoma is still on the hook for $58,000 in federal safety citations stemming from a boiler explosion that killed two workers but won‰??t face higher fines for previous violations at the site, a divided Tenth Circuit ruled Tuesday.
The majority held that Occupational Safety and Health Administration chemical processing requirements for oil refineries and chemical plants can include such ancillary operations as a steam boiler. It was the first time an appeals court had ruled on the question.
