Recently, we had a discussion on the list of ways that ACS and CHAS can better serve division members who are unable to attend national ACS meetings. This week in C&EN, there is an article on "Imagining the future of ACS meetings" that discusses some of the challenges associated with the current ACS national and regional meeting model. You can find this comment at
https://cen.acs.org/acs-news/comment/Imagining-future-ACS-meetings/98/i7
It mentions other activities that ACS members can participate in, including ACS Safety Summits, the third of which took place this past weekend. A summary report from this year's summit will be available before the Philadelphia national meeting. Summary reports from the previous safety summits are available in C&EN and complete reports in the archives of the ACS Chemical Health and Safety (the 2018 report is at
https://pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/acs.chas.8b26308
and the 2019 report is at
https://pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/acs.chas.8b26404 )
The C&EN column asks that you make your voice heard with your comments and suggestions by emailing m&e**At_Symbol_Here**acs.org. If you have specific ideas about how the Division can better serve our members, please let me know.
Let me know if you have any questions about this.
