Mary Beth asked:
I'm looking for specific design issues you all have seen related to chemistry laboratories (I have a good bio lab layout already).
You've received some really excellent feedback.
And Rob Torecki brought up about bike storage - which is a huge issue at UC Davis - the bike capitol of everywhere. We have good policies in place and (mostly) convenient bike racks.
But along with bikes, comes skateboards and alongside skateboards, surfboards. You might laugh but it is a problem at our coastal campuses. Storing surfboards on top of the laboratory
plumbing, running across the ceiling, is a bad idea. So installation of racks for skateboards and surfboards may also be necessary.
Best,
Debbie
