The National Academies Press has a book (free by pdf) 3On Being a
Scientist: A Guide to Responsible Conduct in
Research2 that has a very short chapter on Safety. (Ok, one page, but at
least it is mentioned.) We use this at UCLA in the Ethics course required
of all first year graduate students in chemistry.
