The Cannabis Chemistry Subdivision (CANN) of the American Chemical Society’s (ACS) Division of Chemical Health and Safety (CHAS) is pleased to announce the establishment of a scholarship program rewarding contributions to the field of cannabis chemistry. The American Chemical Society’s Cannabis Chemistry Subdivision Scholarship for Excellence, sponsored by Heidolph North America, will be granted to multiple recipients twice per year. The scholarship program is made possible by Heidolph North America’s generous support, and they’ve committed close to forty thousand dollars to the program over the next five years.

The scholarship provides travel funds to enable researchers to present their work at ACS National Meetings taking place each spring and fall. The grants will award between 500 and 1,500 USD to applicants selected by a review committee, who will use the award funds to present their work at a symposium at the following ACS National Meeting. The program is open to students, faculty, research staff, and industry professionals.

I know that this scholarship will serve as a beacon and support for good science happening in the cannabis field around the world. Application deadlines for future meetings will be announced on the CANN website at DCHAS.ORG/CANN

The Cannabis Chemistry Subdivision was formed in 2014 with the goal of providing knowledge and resources to the rapidly expanding cannabis industry and research community, and it exists as a subdivision within the Chemical Health and Safety division of ACS.
