From: "Eric Clark"Subject: Re: [DCHAS-L] Toxic chemicals/toxins from the culture Date: October 11, 2011 6:30:03 PM EDT What are the best practices for disposing the toxic chemicals/toxins from the culture? Tilak, I don't believe there's a problem with bulking the culture waste together and disposing of it all in medical waste. Call your medical waste vendor and ask if you can dispose of these ancillary chemicals along with the rest of the autoclaved waste in the red biohazard bags. Before you call, have answers to these questions ready that they'll likely ask you: What are the chemicals; what's your hazardous waste generator status; are any of these chemicals on EPAs p-list?
