OSHA requires the minimum use of Level B (chemical protective clothing and
positive pressure supplied air respirator) in any unknown environment.=A0 I
t would be considered IDLH (immediately dangerous to life or health).=A0 I
am on a response team for EPA and have responded for many a hazmat incident
.=A0 In most cases, HazMat will do level A entries (requiring fully encapsu
lating suit) because they don't normal carry standard chemical protective c
lothing (bunker gear is not considered CPC).=A0 Depends upon what they and
the people on the scene know about what has been released.=A0 There are som
e standard guidelines.=A0 Check with the local HazMat Teams SOPs.
