Last year LSI provided one of our Mini-Grants ($250) to a school science teacher in Ohio who wanted funds to run a "Lab Safety Fair". This is a sci ence fair where all the projects are on lab safety topics. The 24 high school students did eight lab safety projects and then took the projects to the ju nior high schools to teach lab safety to the younger students. Perhaps DCHAS would like to encourage this type of activity on a broader basis. It might be a good topic for an Innovative Projects Grant. The write-up/final report of the Lab Safety Fair Mini-Grant Project appears in the most recent issue of Speaking of Safety, LSI's newsletter. Anyone interest in talking further about this one? ...
