NSTA (National Science Teachers Association) and ACS (American Chemical
Society, Division CHE) have space standards for college laboratories.
These
are 45 net square feet and 50 net square feet per student
respectively for
general chemistry. I recall the guideline rises to 55 nsf for organic
chemistry.
